Both my trainer and my vet recommend this product. I have had good luck with this product with both a 62-lb retriever and an 18-lb beagle. I need them to walk quietly by my side as I am training them to hopefully be therapy dogs. This device helps me bring their attention back to me. They don't like it, because I'm now in charge, not them, but it doesn't hurt them. They would rather go chase after the squirrel, but now they can't pull me with them when they catch the scent. I wouldn't be able to walk them with out this as I'm only 5'3 and would have a hard time controlling one of my dogs much less both of them at once. It's like a horse halter which has been used for quite some time. It also works great to help keep my dog from jumping on people. No other product has been able to help. I bought all of mine from my trainer, but the price here is about the same.
